The Ghanaian Union in Thailand will hold a free online webinar on Saturday, 12 September 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thailand time, aimed at helping Ghanaians and other foreign residents better understand renewals, immigration compliance and consular-related procedures. Under the theme “Renewals & Consular Services: Live Legal & Confident in Thailand,” the Google Meet session will feature Mr. Rex Darko, a law enthusiast, who will provide practical guidance and legal insights. The programme comes at an important time for foreign residents, for whom keeping passports, immigration permissions and reporting obligations in order can be essential to maintaining lawful status and avoiding preventable complications.

The public impact of accurate immigration information is significant, particularly for expatriate workers, teachers, students and families navigating Thailand’s administrative requirements. Official Thai Immigration Bureau information confirms that foreigners permitted to remain temporarily in Thailand who stay for more than 90 days are subject to 90-day residence reporting requirements, while immigration offices also provide procedures for extensions of temporary stay and residence notifications. Thailand has additionally expanded digital immigration services, including online mechanisms for certain extension processes, reflecting government efforts to make some procedures more accessible and efficient.

Thailand’s continuing digitalisation of immigration administration further highlights why foreign residents need current and reliable information. The Immigration Bureau’s Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) has replaced the traditional paper arrival card for international travellers entering the Kingdom; official guidance states that non-Thai nationals entering Thailand generally must submit the TDAC online within the permitted three-day window before arrival. The government system also makes clear that the TDAC is not a visa, an important distinction for residents and travellers seeking to understand their immigration responsibilities.
